Oatmeal Patties

(Vegan)

(Yields 36 patties)

  • 4 ½ C. water
  • ½ C. low sodium soy sauce or Tamari
  • 4 ¼ C. oatmeal
  • 1 large chopped onion

Bring the water and soy sauce to a boil then add the oatmeal and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Turn off and add the seasonings and nuts.

  • 1 C. chopped walnuts
  • 2 Tbs. nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp. McKays Beef seasoning
  • 1 tsp. granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp. celery salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Let the mixture cool down some and scoop out and form patties and place on a non-stick Silpat sheet on a large cookie tray.

Bake for 20 minutes then turn over and bake for 10 minutes more.

These freeze well ready to pull out and reheat in a non-stick pan or microwave.

These taste great with Mushroom Cashew gravy.
